Going to school makes sense
when you don’t work 12h a day for a bowl of rice
In the slums five people share a room, but 50 share a toilet. Next door are 30-story skyscrapers with toys and luxury brands behind glass windows.
Children help fishermen and clean homes, not sure if they’ll eat tonight or will have to give up what little they have for their younger siblings.
We admit children to schools where local education standards are met and we feed them clean, wholesome meals every day.
With your support, we help thousands of boys and girls who learned to work to earn a meal before they learned to read and write. We give them a safe childhood and a way out of poverty.
Refugees fled Myanmar in boatloads for the Bangladesh shores. Upon arrival they were herded into makeshift camps where they are required to stay until further notice.
Kids are fed nothing but rice and lentils, and their only source of education is whatever the community can scrounge together. We have been approved to enter these camps. We support the teachers and provide children with balanced diets – fish, chicken, veggies, dairy. Our goal is to arm them with the tools they need to make a living when, in shaa Allah, they can return home.
Many parents – particularly fathers – have died from war or illness. Without a way to feed their children, mothers send their boys and girls to work. When both parents die, older siblings try to earn, but often it is not enough. Orphaned children then they stay on the streets, hungry and hopeless.
Thanks to your generous support, 652 orphans are now in school, receiving daily meals and education. Many more await admission. Some of our schools include live-in options for homeless children. We prioritize children without parents, children of parents with disabilities and children of single mothers for our programs.
While these children come from a variety of backgrounds, they certainly have one thing in common… with meals to nourish them and the Qur’an in their hearts, there’s no limit to what they can go on to achieve.
Last year, 13 boys and 15 girls attending our schools memorized the entire Quran!
We offer religious education in all of our schools, with Hifdh and Quran education programs in our madrassas, including exclusively girls’ madrassas.
Girls in poverty are married young because parents cannot afford to feed them. We invite 1411 girls to our schools instead.
No need to marry someone just to get your daily meals. Girls are welcome join our schools, get fed AND educated.
We focus on communities where girls tend to get less support than boys. Several schools focus exclusively on girls education, and we make sure girls are welcome in all other schools we support.
We give meals to vulnerable children in community schools for Rohingya, Syrian, Somali, Palestinian, Afghan, Iraqi, Iranian, Yemeni, Sudanese and other refugee families stuck in Malaysia with no legal rights to earn.
Without means of making an adequate living, parents AND children take to the streets looking for what work they can regardless of the danger.
Your support helps us keep more refugee children in school and away from child labour.
In Palestine, children are forced to grow up before their time, something no child should experience. Daily hot meals give the children of Gaza hope amidst grief, chaos and uncertainty.
We work with Gaza Children’s Fund, a Palestinian-founded and Australia-registered charity with 10+ years experience aiding vulnerable children in Gaza. They are on the ground in Gaza right now, delivering daily hot meals to Palestinian children and their families.
800 families have arrived from Gaza to Australia as refugees. While they are now safe from the airstrikes, they do not have work rights to earn a living.
Help us provide daily meals to refugee children of Gaza in Australia. We have partnered with National Zakat Foundation to assess the eligibility of every recipient and deliver stable, daily food aid.
We feed our students daily, school days or not.
Please, consider setting up a recurring donation. We rely on your continued support to see the children through to graduation.
Sustained trust and support from our donors means we can open more schools and promise more children a safe, continued education.
